First off, they didn’t break through until ’96, and he quit in 2009. That’s 13 years. He put back over $100,000 a year in that time. Net worth is how much your stuff is currently worth, not how much have you made total. To accumulate $1.7 million in 30 years, you would have to save $56,666 a year on average. Yes, I know there is return on investments, but you would still have to put back at least $20,000 a year. That’s pretty difficult to do on a Walmart salary.
That being said, I think he is an excellent musician with a great personality. I wish him all happiness with his family. Fame and fortune aren’t the important things in life.
